How can I translate my website using the plugin?

After you have set-up the Translation Hub and embedded the javascript plugin into your website the language switcher will appear on your page. It will load the available languages automatically and start translation on selecting. The translations will appear on the Translation Hub in Translation editor where you can edit them. 

You must have an eTranslation or WEB-T compatible translation provider account for automatic translation to work. 

Can I customize and improve the quality of machine-translated content made with the plugin?

Yes, you can post-edit the translations in the translation editor. Translation editor is available on the Translation Hub. 

What is the Translation Hub?

Translation Hub is the server side of Universal plugin, used to configure machine translation settings, store and edit translations. Users access it and manage their website configurations via front-end portal. 

Can I use the translation plugin without the Translation Hub?

No, the Translation Hub is needed for creating new integrations, configuring the translation languages and machine translation engines, as well as editing and managing translations. 

What if I have multiple websites?

You can use the same Translation Hub for multiple websites by creating an integration for each of the websites. 

Is the plugin SEO-friendly?

The plugin translates page titles, descriptions, image alt texts and aria-labels, as well as Facebook and Twitter meta tags. 

How can I translate my website without breaking my SEO?

You will need to review and edit the machine-translated SEO meta tags for accuracy. 

Do I need to be a developer or have administrator access to set up WEB-T Universal?

To set up WEB-T Universal you will need to access website frontend source code to insert JS website translator widget which will communicate with Translation Hub. To set up Translation Hub, you will need some Helm/Kubernetes/Docker service deployment knowledge to be able to host this service online; alternatively, you can search for any existing, 3rd party hosted Translation Hubs. 

Can I customize the language switcher on my website?

The default language switcher is displayed as a dropdown-menu and can be placed in any part of your website.  

You will need to have some JavaScript knowledge to change the appearance or create a custom language switcher. Read more in the website translator integration guide
